Dr. Joy Dees, PT, DPT, is the co-founder of Vessel PT and Wellness. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree in 2020 from Samford University. After graduating, Joy began practicing in outpatient orthopedics in Birmingham. In 2021, she relocated to Montgomery and discovered her passion for pelvic floor rehabilitation. Joy is certified in pelvic floor therapy by Herman and Wallace and in dry needling by the AAOMT. She actively contributes to the physical therapy community, serving on the Samford Physical Therapy Advisory Board and the Samford Alumni Executive Board, as well as being President of the Kensington Foundation. Outside of work, Joy enjoys watching Auburn athletics, working out, and spending time with family, friends, and her three god-children.,
Dr. Kiersten Miller, PT, DPT, was the co-founder of Vessel PT and Wellness. She graduated with her DPT from Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL. Kiersten began her career in inpatient rehabilitation, managing multiple sites in skilled nursing facilities. Following the birth of her son, she developed an interest in pelvic floor therapy after successfully overcoming her own pelvic floor dysfunction. Kiersten returned to Auburn, “The loveliest village on the plains,” where she attended Auburn University for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She obtained her Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor Certification and received advanced training to serve the pregnancy, postpartum, and women’s health athletic populations. Kiersten also served on various committees and councils for PT and PTA programs at Alabama State University, Southern Union State Community College, and Lurleen B. Wallace Community College. She was proud to be a part of Auburn University’s Young Alumni Council. In her free time, Kiersten enjoyed Auburn football and gymnastics events and traveling with her husband, Greg, and son, Konnor.
